L a n d S t a g e s Collective creates site-specific outdoor / indoor performances and installations, presents concerts, audiovisual works, long durational formats and exhibitions, works with outdoor interventions, live drawing, experimental poetry and field recordings often mixed with instruments, voice and objects played live. The collective aims to develop a symbiotic sonic environment alongside natural sonic landscapes, integrating themselves sensitively into the existing surroundings and becoming part of the acoustic ecosystem without dominating it. Another point of their work is to find ways of transferring the outdoor experiences into indoor spaces.

The collective organically defined itself in 2021 when they first played as a quartet in Paretz, producing an outdoor recording for Radio Kapital. The four like-minded artists have known each other since 2010. They have had frequent meetings in various settings exchanging, improvising, researching and creating by exploring the possibilities of symbiosis between their individual artistic languages. All of them are experienced artists working with real time composition, instant relation and listening/reacting to the momentum. The four artists with different backgrounds are finding common ground in their never ending inspiration drawn from various soundscapes and ecological environments worldwide. The collective works sustainable and mindful with 0 waste, recycling all natural materials back to nature and reusing all other props for future activities. The multidisciplinary quartet is wide open to experimentation, following an intuitive approach where each individual creates in symbiosis, overcoming the deficit of any pre-existing genre-defining boundaries. The L a n d S t a g e s Collective's ongoing research started with creating works for duo (Recorded Landscapes DOMA, L a n d S t a g e s duos by Vogel/Gordoa, 1:∞ Czerniawska/Gordoa, DUOS2022 with Voutchkova/Czerniawska etc.), later on growing into their quartet. The next working period of the collective will be in April 2024 at the beautiful region of Bernina, Switzerland.

The L a n d S t a g e s Collective created the exhibition part and performed live daily for three consecutive days alongside other changing guests of the project. The exhibition included various audio visual installations - screened videos, sculptures made from natural materials collected in Bulgaria and small mechanical motors, wall applications and written texts alongside an aural multichannel composition played through a set of discreet small speakers.
Shared Space of the Liberated Sound was initiated by Biliana Voutchkova and the Goethe-Institut Bulgaria. The event was dedicated to the Echtzeitmusik scene of Berlin and offered a space for sharing and experiencing a varied live program alongside the exhibition at the White Cube Gallery of Toplocentrala Sofia.

Seetönen
Klanglandschaften 2023, Briesesee, Brandenburg

Seetönen a is site-specific performance intervention. It took place around the Briesesee as part of the Klanglandschaften Festival 2023. The audience was invited to walk around, listen, observe and follow the performers. They created individual and group actions around and in the lake. Sounds emerged from various directions, some natural, some mixed with sounding instruments and frequencies recorded underwater. A boat on the lake glittered and transformed. Hearing, listening, seeing and perceiving.

Surrounded by water, on Heron Island, with a microphone in the lake and our thoughts in the treetops,
we recorded an improvised piece together with the frogs, fishes, leaves and a flock of cormorants.
In addition, all sounds of the forest in dialogue with our instruments and voices.
