"...frank openness emerges that is oddly, unexpectedly soothing. Within Voutchkova’s utterances is a letting go. She channels thoughts and emotions outward, voicing their pain and power while casting them to the ether. It’s a powerful statement."
Brad Rose, Foxy Digitalis
"...Impressive on March 8 was Voutchkova’s ability to develop slowly and maintain improvisational ideas over extended stretches of time. Most of these ideas focused on nontraditional sonic possibilities of violin performance practice...."
The Hudson Review, Elisabeth Lyon
"...courageous, uncompromising, ultimately successful...."
FreiStil #70/Bertl, Germany
"...the grandiose Voutchkova transforms her instrument into a furious, multi - part contra - harmonious orchestra..."
Heilbronner Stimme, Claudia Ihlefeld
“... The enormous capacity of outstanding musical talent is felt.”
Nagoya, Japan
"... wherein Voutchkova, as she does on several occasions, speaks as she's playing, in a low tone that's indecipherable to me and all the more mysterious and beautiful for that. It's a very simple idea, I suppose, but one that I find very strong and oddly moving."
Brian Olewnick/Just Outside, UK
“Very impressed by Modus Of Raw… Biliana Voutchkova strikes me as one of those profound and insightful artists who deals in silence, precision of thought, and a taut compacted mode of expression; only these taut-lipped approaches are suitable for the complex content she’s attempting to delineate, where there are clearly a lot of unknowns, and you need a degree of courage to get to the heart of the matter…”
The Sound Projector, Ed Pinsent
“…Voutchkova simply has an original manuscript to which we are unaccustomed. But when her speech coordinates with your perception, you will experience a remarkable adventure.”
His Voice, Z.K. SLABÝ
“…Seeking to capture and fix the unpublished...
Great promises here.”
Luc Bouquet, le son du grisli

“… not only terrific player but also extremely personable human being…"
Boston Globe, USA
“…Throughout the evening it was in these quite and reflective sections where Voutchkova created her moments of real magic.”
Asahi Evening News, Japan
“… Biliana Voutchkova (violin) and Sarah Bob (piano) brought this off with brilliance.”
Bay Windows, Boston, USA
“… You have moved many of us greatly with your playing and positive attitude.”
Joel Smirnnoff, Julliard Quartet
“…supreme temperament and amazing technique.”
Murcia, Spain
"... This was yet another touch to the artistry of Biliana, the ability to present sound image in a plastic way, the other side of its emotional nature...... Communication in time, filled with screaming sounds of loneliness, is a big success. Biliana Vouchkova achieves it, with charm, musicality and intelligence, both as a devoted chamber musician and improviser with a strong faith in contemporary art, as numerous critics note."
Kultura, Bulgaria
“…The interpretations of Biliana Voutchkova are ones of mature musician, of rich professional experience, with refine taste and high culture in playing.”
Georgi Minchev, composer/former musical director of the Bulgarian National Radio

"Emotional merging"
"..I cannot miss another concert. Concert - event! And not because Biliana Voutchkova, Aga Dziubak, Mario Angelov and Rossen Idealov are not musicians that we expect in the territory of the new classics and the music of today. But because the evening was one of the most rare also for them. Feeling and going through tinted implementation of Debussy’s violin sonata”…… ” To get to the colossal emergence of revelation Quartet for the end of time by Olivier Messiaen. The inspiration, mutual obsession and the instrumental achievement of the suggestions of the work can’t be described. Work created in the camp Stalag VIII A from the imprisoned Messiaen and performed also there in January 1941 with the author on the piano. Work inspired by a quote from the Apocalypse that elevates the music to the simplicity and grandeur of the idea of the powerful divine. Most difficult to interpret such level of reading! When you understand the heights of musical occurring, the feeling of mystery pervades everyone to give these great musicians even greater spiritual energy and even more loving … прозрение …for the message of this extraordinary music. That was really a Revelation form which one walks away in tears. The performance culminates in the last two parts - "Disorder of rainbows for the Angel, which heralds the end of Time” and " Eulogy immortality of Jesus." The finish was memorable - with the ecstasy of meditative fusion of piano and violin, in which the keyboard sound fantasy of Angelov seemed like just now finding the harmony, in which was dissolving the heavenly song of Voutchkova’s violin. Such an achievement, such a merging is experienced emotionally very, very rare! Catharsis!
After this concert I think that the destroying is powerless to touch what has been sown in decades of the builders of modern musical reality in Bulgaria. And that my pessimism might be unfounded. What can be a happier thought than this!
