Solo with Voice

Solo with Voice and the associated with it release Modus of Raw presented publicly for first time the results of Biliana Voutchkova’s investigation of the
simultaneous fusion of the violin and voice - a coherent sonorous identity, rather that an interaction between two accompanying lines. The work started in 2015
at the Uncool residency in Poschiavo where the album was also recorded. The release came out in 2016, followed by three additional premiers of pieces by
Malin Bång, Jacques Demierre and Tomomi Adachi. The pieces were created specifically for/with and by Biliana in relation to this newly developed and
innovative musical language. The development of this kind of work continues until today, constantly crossing over the threshold between written and
improvised music. The latest development is presented with the launch of Biliana's second solo album Seeds of Songs (2021), followed by the premiers of
three commissioned works, by Anna Korsun, Viola Yip and Peter Ablinger.
