...is dedicated to expanding the relationship between music/sound, dance/movement improvisation and instant composition. the group balances between all those elements where nether the music nor the dance takes the lead role eliminating the usual tendency of one becoming an accompaniment. grapeshade focuses on wide range of tasks that shape each performance - response/repetition, reaction/ignorance towards individual impulse, minimalism/reduction, fragmentation, symbiosis, interruption, disturbance, and various other ways of transforming the present momentum into an alternative art form. based in Berlin, started exploring the small alternative spaces in the city in 2009, shared continuously their work with the music/dance followers in informal settings making most of their gatherings public, developed strong interest for site specific performances. more info: www.grapeshade.weebly.com https://vimeo.com/114364255 |

"A very subdued, enchanting duo …. Great combination of the warm and the itchy--really strong, don't miss it." Brian Olewnick, blogspot.com https://vimeo.com/94640632 Biliana Voutchkova - violin/voice, Walli Höfinger - voice/performance Since 2012 the two artists frequently meet in Reichenow to exchange, improvise, share questions and research into the possibilities of symbiosis between the collective palette of personal language of each performer - those including sound, music, text, singing, movement, dance etc. Both are experienced improvisors working with real time composition, instant relation and listening/reacting to the momentum. The duo works on the threshold of sense/non-sense and searches for variety of forms detached from context. PEDESIS

OSM - open sound & movement collective
OSM is a forum for interdisciplinary exchange between sound and movement. Founded by violinist Biliana Voutchkova and choreographer Louise Wagner, it is a platform for continuous collaboration grounded in similarities of artistic approach connected with life style, common knowledge and understanding of contemporary music/performing arts gained through education and long experience in the field, and also in the wish to discover new means of expression and develop new performative practices. Musicians and performers gather together at regular intervals to investigate the possibilities of the interplay between sound and movement and to extend it. Each meeting is preceded by a common musical and physical match to promote the physical presence of the musicians and, on the other hand, the musical understanding of the performers. We are inspired by our natural unpretentious body/mind functions, the spontaneous respond to the momentum and the ability to manipulate it.Through experiencing together in various settings - rehearsing in different surroundings, walking in nature, hiking in the mountains, brain storming, improvising, experimenting and exchanging ideas we are also conducting our research, constantly bringing new elements of importance into it. Our aim is to always incorporate this research into a performance where the boundry line between movers and musicians is diminished and even not existing anymore. OSM held regular monthly series at Radial System V in 2012 and continued with a residency at HZT/Ufer Studios in 2013.
